Hitched!

After about 5 years of Brook chasing Katie between Birmingham and Atlanta, they finally made it official! Everything about the weekend was wonderful. And of course, Katie was as beautiful as ever!
I got to see my good college buddies too. Danielle and I got to reunite as roomates as we shared our Ritz-Carlton suite. I love that girl and we had such a fun-filled time of laughter, as usual.

The bridesmaids + Danielle got to ride a trolley to the church on our way to the wedding. Katie almost broke her nose on the ride, but thankfully she didn't. It wouldn't have been too cute for pictures. Speaking of pictures, the photographer was awesome and I can't wait to see the results! But, it's really not difficult to capture the beauty of Katie. Thanks Katie for allowing me to spend the weekend having fun with you and Brook!

The church was under construction, so we joked with Katie and Brook that they couldn't exit out of their own wedding.

ATL

Yay! Katie and Brook are finally getting married this weekend. They've been dating on and off since college, I think sometime in 2003. I'm leaving tomorrow morning (without Marty and babies) at 9am to fly to ATL and get to see most of my closest college girls. I'm so excited for this special reunion time with the girls.

I'm mostly excited that I'm a bridesmaid. Katie and I went to London together in our 2nd semester of sophomore year. We didn't really know each other at all, but I think that changed on about Day 2 of the trip. We instantly became really good pals and were even blessed to room right next door to one another. I wish I could post a picture of us two being silly in London, but just a mere 6 years ago, there wasn't a lot of digital camera action. And I'm not about to go take pictures of my scrapbook.

Anyhow, that trip kickstarted the rest of our fun college years. We were once described like this: " If you two girls were put in a padded cell, you would always be amused." We have this ability to keep one another entertained and laughing for a long time.

Congratulations Katie! I love you!!

Saturday happenings

I don't even know if I should mention this, but I guess it'll be good to have this story notated.

I woke up this morning to a crib/child full of brown. Yes, that's right. Arianna decided to be "Poo-casso" with her, well, you know what. It was everywhere. On her cheeks. On the sheet. On the mattress. On the crib. On the carpet.
I think this has been the most surprising "disaster" of parenthood, so far. I debated taking pictures of it, but for some reason I just wasn't in the moment at that time.
Marty and I have learned our lesson. Don't let your toddler sleep without pants or bottoms. The Cinderella nitegown and diaper alone will lead to "Pooperella".

On a better note. After 1 1/2 months of trying to get BJ to eat baby food, he finally did today. I've tried so many things, mostly sweet foods such as peaches, applesauce, and sweet potatoes, but everyday he would continue to spit it out and make awful faces. My persistence paid off with sweet potatoes.
He even ate the entire jar.

I guess he was still hungry so he tried to eat the container. Then I gave him applesauce.

Rockstar!

For those of you that don't know, Rockband is a video game, but actually comes with a physical drum set, guitar, and microphone. To complete your Rockband, you need a drummer, guitarist, and singer. The words and "notes" flow across the TV screen once your song is chosen.

At my friend's house this past weekend, Arianna and I were finally able to check out the Rockband craze. I tried to play the drums. I failed. All 6 times. To my defense, I've heard that it is quite difficult for anyone at first.

With no surprise, Arianna took it upon herself to be the Rockstar of the Rockband.

Sick and Down

The past week Arianna, BJ and me have all been a little sick. Arianna had double ear infections, which wasn't a big surprise since the Dr. warned us that the pink eye she had 3 weeks ago would probably lead to this. The surprising part was that her fever spiked up to 105 in the middle of the night and Marty had to take her to All Children's Hospital. She stayed in the ER about 3 hours and was released. They said to continue giving her Motrin and antibiotic and she should get better. The next day BJ had 102 degree fever, so the pediatrician wanted to see him. All he had was chest congestion, which he still isn't really over yet.

In the midst of all that, some sweet little girl that lives at my house somehow poured water all over our laptop, so that has been down for a few days now. That should teach us what the little hands in our house have access to.

We're on the up as we'll all be better again soon!

Generosity

My friend Hollie is one of the most generous people I know. She has her own 3 kids, she watches my 2 kids about once a week and watches her niece....all at the same time. The girl will never take anything I offer, in fact, she never expects anything in return. I have to sneak little gifts to her in the mail. She's always giving my kids toys and clothes. Today, I pick the kids up to find out she bought a shirt for BJ and is giving Arianna this adorable picnic set that her daughter never really played with. Arianna loves it!

Hollie, thanks for everything you do for our family!!

This boy will sleep anywhere...

What a Prince!!

Speaking of...

I'm trying to think of words/phrases that Arianna has compiled at a mere 18 months old. So here is a list, but by no means exhaustive:

*No (I put it first because I think it's her favorite right now)
*Yes (not used as often as the previous word)
*uh-oh
*I know
*Cheese (although it comes in 3 forms: her way of saying "please", the actual
food, and right before a picture is taken)

*I get it
*me
*Mom
*cracker
*Dad
*cookie
*baby
*ball
*Bubby
*Kendy (cousin Kennedie)
*Hi
*shoes
*bye-bye
*tickle,tickle
*Hello
*Hey
That's all I can think of for now. I'm sure in another month this list will double!
